	- work around a kernel bug in openSUSE 11.1. If there are file
	  descriptors to pass they are sent by a short separate message
	  of 8 bytes (number of file descriptors + number of bytes in the
	  record). This prevents the file descriptors to be read by the
	  receiver multiple times if the passed data block is too large.
